To get your myQ opener connected to your home Wi-Fi, you’ll need a few things. Gather up your smartphone or tablet, and your Wi-Fi network name and password. The overall process should take less than twenty minutes.

For an Apple device:

  1. Create a myQ account. If you already have one, log into the myQ app.
  2. Tap “myQ Smart Garage Hub” on the Device Setup screen.
  3. Review and tap “Next” on the What You Need screen.
  4. Plug in the myQ Smart Garage Hub and tap Next.
  5. Tap “Yes” if you have a blinking blue LED light.
    • If you don’t have a blinking blue LED light, press and hold the gear button until you see a flashing blue light, then release. Press and hold the gear button a second time, until the hub beeps. This will reset the Smart Garage Hub. Unplug and replug-in the hub.
  6. Scan the 10-digit serial number on the back of the hub.
    • If the serial number doesn’t scan, tap Enter Serial Number Manually at the bottom of the screen. Type in the serial number and tap Done.
  7. Tap “Join” on the question, “Chamberlain” wants to join Wi-Fi Network “myQ-NNN”?
  8. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
  9. Enter your network password and tap Next.
  10. Tap “Next” on the Added to Wi-Fi screen.
  11. Remove the tab in your door sensor and tap Next.
  12. Test your door sensor by pressing the button as indicated in the app, tap “Next.”
  13. Go through the steps to pair your door sensor to your hub, tap “Next.”
  14. Press and release the button on the door sensor. The Smart Garage Hub will beep and flash. If it doesn’t, troubleshoot the door sensor.
  15. Tap “Next” on the Door Sensor Is Paired screen.
  16. Follow the in-app steps or watch the video to install the door sensor.
    • You can skip these steps in the app by pressing “Skip Install Help at the bottom of the screen.”
  17. Tap “Next” on the Pair to Motor screen.
  18. Read the warning and click “Next.”
  19. Use a ladder to access your garage door motor and tap “Next.”
  20. Select the brand of your garage door opener.
  21. Locate your learn/program button and tap “Found It.”
    • If prompted, select the color of your learn/program button.
  22. Press and quickly release the learn/program button on your garage door opener motor head and tap “Next.” This will cause your garage door opener to move.
  23. When the opener is paired, tap “Next.”
  24. Name your garage door and tap “Next.”
  25. Mount the Smart Garage Hub.
    • You can watch the video or follow the in-app steps. Or skip these steps by tapping “Skip Install Help.”
  26. Tap “Finish” when you have successfully installed the hub.
  27. Tap the garage door in the app to activate the door.

NOTE: Do not operate the garage door opener until installation has been completed.

For an Android:

  1. Create a myQ account. If you already have one, log into the myQ app.
  2. Tap “myQ Smart Garage Hub” on the Device Setup screen.
  3. If prompted, enable your location services.
  4. Review and tap “Next” on the What You Need screen.
  5. Plug in the myQ Smart Garage Hub and tap “Next.”
  6. Tap “Yes” if you have a blinking blue LED light.
    • If you don’t have a blinking blue LED light, press and hold the gear button until you see a flashing blue light, then release. Press and hold the gear button a second time, until the hub beeps. This will reset the Smart Garage Hub. Unplug and replug-in the hub.
  7. Tap myQ-NNN showing in the Discovered screen.
  8. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
  9. Enter your network password and tap “Next.”
  10. Tap “Next” on the Added to Wi-Fi screen.
  11. Remove the tab in your door sensor and tap “Next.”
  12. Test your door sensor by pressing the button as indicated in the app, tap “Next.”
  13. Go through the steps to pair your door sensor to your hub, tap “Next.”
  14. Press and release the button on the door sensor. The Smart Garage Hub will beep and flash, if it doesn’t, troubleshoot the door sensor.
  15. Tap “Next” on the Door Sensor Is Paired screen.
  16. Follow the in-app steps or watch the video to install the door sensor.
    • You can skip these steps in the app by pressing “Skip Install Help” at the bottom of the screen
  17. Tap “Next” on the Pair to Motor screen.
  18. Read the warning and click “Next.”
  19. Grab a ladder to access your garage door motor and tap “Next.”
  20. Select the brand of your garage door opener.
  21. Locate your learn/program button and tap “Found It.” If prompted, select the color of your learn/program button.
  22. Press and quickly release the learn/program button on your garage door opener motor head and tap “Next.” This will cause your garage door opener to move.
  23. When the opener is paired, tap “Next.”
  24. Name your garage door and tap “Next.”
  25. Mount the Smart Garage Hub.

  26. Tap “Finish” when you have successfully installed the hub.
  27. Tap the garage door in the app to activate the door.
