Any constant beeping sound can be quite annoying, especially if you don’t know the cause. If you hear a beeping noise from your garage door opener, there are a few different things you should troubleshoot.
- If you’re closing your door using your LiftMaster Time-to-Close feature or myQ technology, the garage door opener will beep and lights will flash to let you know that the door is closing. This is simply a warning mechanism to stay clear of moving parts.
- You may not run into this unless your power goes out, but whenever your garage door opener is running on its battery backup function, the garage door opener will beep. It’s letting you know that it had to enter battery backup mode.
- Another reason your garage door opener is beeping may be that your battery backup is running low. Look for the LED light on your garage door opener to see if this is the case. If you’re confused as to where to look on your garage door opener, check out the LiftMaster® video below.
