If you need to change up your existing PIN for your garage door opener keypad, have no fear. It’s a simple process that shouldn’t take more than a minute.

  1. Be sure to clear the garage door area of any obstructions.
  2. Press your current PIN that you want to change.
  3. Press and hold the “#” button until the garage door opener light blinks twice.
  4. Enter the new 4-digit PIN of your choice, then press the “ENTER” button. The opener lights will blink once. The PIN programming is complete.

(These instructions apply to LiftMaster 877LM. Genie keypads cannot be reprogrammed and LiftMaster 877Max has different steps, so make sure you read your opener’s manual for accurate instructions.)

If you need back-up at any point of this process, call your local garage door repair experts.
