So, you’ve got your new myQ-enabled garage door opener, and you want to connect it to the Internet. To do this, you’ll need your network’s Wi-Fi information and a smartphone or tablet to help connect.
For Android:
You have 20 minutes to complete the connection process.
- Activate Wi-Fi learn mode. The garage door opener will beep one time and the blue LED will blink under the black adjustment button (this button is located between the two arrow buttons).
- Press and release the yellow learn button on the motor head 3 times. OR
- If you have a Smart Control Panel, Go to Menu > Program > Scroll to find Wi-Fi Setup.
- Log into the myQ app. You can download the app at the Google Play Store.
- If you haven’t already set up an account, set up a myQ account.
- Tap “Add a Device” or tap “+”.
- Tap “myQ-nnn” under Discovered Devices
- Tap “Yes” to connect your Wi-Fi garage door opener to your home network.
- Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter your home Wi-Fi network password and tap “Connect.”
- Listen for 3 beeps from your opener. When you hear 3 beeps, you are connected.
- Enter the name for your new hub and garage door opener, then click “Save.”
For Apple:
- Activate Wi-Fi learn mode. The garage door opener will beep one time and the blue LED will blink under the black adjustment button (this button is located between the two arrow buttons).
- Press and release the yellow learn button on the motor head 3 times. OR
- If you have a Smart Control Panel, Go to Menu > Program > Scroll to find Wi-Fi Setup.
- On your mobile device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select the network with the myQ-nnn prefix.
- Launch the web browser on your mobile device.
- Enter “setup.myQdevice.com” into the browser’s address bar.
- Click “Start.”
- Choose your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter your Wi-Fi network password and tap Next.
- Listen for 3 beeps from your opener. When you hear 3 beeps, you are connected.
- Log into the app and select “Add New Device.”
- Add your 10-digit myQ serial number from the garage door opener and tap “Submit.”
- Enter the name for your new hub and garage door opener, then click “Save.”
Congratulations! You’ve successfully connected to your home Wi-Fi.
