How do I pick which network I want to connect to?

So, you’ve got your new myQ-enabled garage door opener, and you want to connect it to the Internet. To do this, you’ll need your network’s Wi-Fi information and a smartphone or tablet to help connect.

For Android:

You have 20 minutes to complete the connection process.

  1. Activate Wi-Fi learn mode. The garage door opener will beep one time and the blue LED will blink under the black adjustment button (this button is located between the two arrow buttons).
    1. Press and release the yellow learn button on the motor head 3 times. OR
    2. If you have a Smart Control Panel, Go to Menu > Program > Scroll to find Wi-Fi Setup.
  2. Log into the myQ app. You can download the app at the Google Play Store.
    • If you haven’t already set up an account, set up a myQ account.
  3. Tap “Add a Device” or tap “+”.
  4. Tap “myQ-nnn” under Discovered Devices
  5. Tap “Yes” to connect your Wi-Fi garage door opener to your home network.
  6. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
  7. Enter your home Wi-Fi network password and tap “Connect.”
  8. Listen for 3 beeps from your opener. When you hear 3 beeps, you are connected.
  9. Enter the name for your new hub and garage door opener, then click “Save.”

For Apple:

  1. Activate Wi-Fi learn mode. The garage door opener will beep one time and the blue LED will blink under the black adjustment button (this button is located between the two arrow buttons).

  2. On your mobile device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select the network with the myQ-nnn prefix.
  3. Launch the web browser on your mobile device.
  4. Enter “setup.myQdevice.com” into the browser’s address bar.
  5. Click “Start.”
  6. Choose your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
  7. Enter your Wi-Fi network password and tap Next.
  8. Listen for 3 beeps from your opener. When you hear 3 beeps, you are connected.
  9. Log into the app and select “Add New Device.”
  10. Add your 10-digit myQ serial number from the garage door opener and tap “Submit.”
  11. Enter the name for your new hub and garage door opener, then click “Save.”

Congratulations! You’ve successfully connected to your home Wi-Fi.
