Before you get started connecting your garage door opener to your home Wi-Fi, you’ll need a few things. Gather up your smartphone or tablet, your Wi-Fi network name and password, and your myQ serial number (located on the garage door opener next to the yellow learn button). The overall process should take less than twenty minutes.
For an Android device:
- Activate Wi-Fi learn mode. The opener will beep once, and the blue LED will blink under the black adjustment button. To enter learn mode:

- Go to Menu > Program > Wi-Fi Setup on your Smart Control Panel.
- If your door control does not have this feature, press and release the yellow learn button 3 times.
- Log into the myQ app. Set up an account if you haven’t already and be sure to save your login information.
- Tap “Add a Device” or tap “+.”
- Tap myQ-nnn under Discovered Devices.
- Tap “Yes” to connect your Wi-Fi garage door opener to your home Wi-Fi network.
- Select your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter your login information, then tap “Connect.”
- Listen for 3 beeps from your opener. When you hear 3 beeps, you are connected!
- Enter the name for your new garage door opener and hub, then click “Save.”
For an Apple or other mobile device:
- Activate Wi-Fi learn mode. The garage door opener will beep once, and the blue LED will blink under the black adjustment button. To enter learn mode:

- Go to Menu > Program > Wi-Fi Setup on your Smart Control Panel.
- If your door control does not have this feature, press and release the yellow learn button 3 times.
- On your mobile device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select the network with the myQ-nnn prefix.
- Launch your web browser and enter “setup.myqdevice.com” into your browser’s address bar.
- Click “Start” and chose your home Wi-Fi from the list.
- Enter your Wi-Fi network login information, then tap “Next.”
- Listen for 3 beeps from your opener. When you hear 3 beeps, you are connected!
- Log into the app and select “Add New Device.”
- Add your 10 digit myQ serial number from the garage door opener and tap “Submit.”
- Enter the name for your new garage door opener and hub, then click “Save.”
